Player spotlight - Heather Robbins

Former CDSA Hotshots team member and current CDSA Future player Heather Robbins has done very well playing her first year of college soccer. Heather is attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania and was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association All-Atlantic Region second team for the 2008 season. In only her first year she was 2nd on the team and tied for 7th in the conference with 14 goals and 30 points. Heather also led her team in game winning goals with 5 and finished 4th in the conference in that category. She scored at least 2 goals in 3 of her games last season. Heather is a shining example for current and future CDSA players, both girls and boys teams. We at CDSA would like to express our pride in Heather's accomplishments and wish her continued success.

USA vs. Mexico result

HOUSTON - FEBRUARY 06: Goalkeeper Tim Howard ...Image by Getty Images via Daylife

Good game last night, USA topped Mexico 2 zip. Anyone notice the coach's son netted both goals? In our zone Mexico is our biggest rival and it wasn't hard to notice the extra drive and passion exhibited by both sides during the game. It has certainly helped the US side that many of our players are playing overseas, which only helps to bring their game to another level. It seems Landon Donovan is finally getting some experience playing in the German Bundesliga. Maybe he can finally overcome the "soft player" tag with some time over there. Anyway, good game, hopefully they can build on it. Certainly didn't hurt the game was played in Columbus.
